For centuries, the world culture has been portraying women and girls as beautiful, but passive, focusing more on their looks, rather than on their dreams. Children's literature inherited this tradition. We cannot change the past, but we can create new types of fairytales. 'Fairytales for Girls' project is a virtual bookshelf, where you can find lots of new feminist fairytales, and add yours to the collection as well. Each fairytale can also meet its artist, who will illustrate it. And, possibly, we will publish this tale, so it will get to actual bookshelves one day.
